Very Large Tri-ang Bus

A large tinplate Tri-ang Routemaster London bus in very good original (un-restored) condition.

This iconic "London Bus" was in use throughout the Capital from the 1950s. The last of these durable and reliable workhorses were finally withdrawn from regular service by London Transport in 2005. 

Closely modelled on the "Routemaster", Tri-ang produced these tinplate buses between 1960-1963. An earlier version with different wheels was produced from 1957. Please see images for details of condition.

It is a large model measuring 56 cm in length, 15 cm wide and 30 cm in height. 

The recipient of such a toy must have been the envy of his friends! Today, it is a magnificent decorative display item and perhaps, a nostalgic buy for those having fond memories of them during their heyday.
